I'm still up and runnin'

So hello to everyone from the hospital!

As Juha already wrote some of the information about my status I can now say it my self that I am going to be okay, but it will take some time to heal from my injuries. About my injuries which are 4 broken ribs, one of them is broken in two spots, broken scapula and hematoma, but from the hematoma I've already healed! I'm doing better day by day and I've already started my physiotherapy, though I can't really do nothing else than breathing exercises. The doctors told me that they will check my status on next monday and after that try to decide the date when I can leave the hospital.

What comes to my bike, my opinion is that it's quite lost thing. Mostly because it has some many kilometers on it (~ 98000)  and it took some serious damage from the accident. But I'll let the insurance company to decide to what to do with it. And I can always (will) buy a new one when I'm able to drive! :D

I have been in good hands here because of Tanja and Tine have brought me a lot of stuff for example clothes, nintendo DS etc.. and of course this laptop!  And I think I can never be grateful enogh for them!

And for the end I would like to thank all of you who has supported me and also I want to thank the beautiful and helpful nurses of the hospital whose got to listen my complaints all the time ;) and after all I hope to see my Finnish friends soon :)

Video killed the radio star!

So here's the videos. Little late but anyways... and I'm still gonna upload some more driving videos from the alps.

And our photospace here is full so I think we have to buy some more if we're going to keep doing this blog :D At least from next summers journey I'm gonna write here.. I think!

And btw I called Samuli and he's coming back to Finland on friday unless the hospital is too greedy and wants the big money from the weekend :(  Although if he leaves the hospital on friday it takes some time to him to get here because he can't fly in 4-6 weeks... He also might need some escort, but I know more tomorrow!

He's got Nintendo DS, laptop and some book at the hospital.. Thanks Tanja ;) Hugs!

Home

So here I am.. at home.. finally.

Friday before I left I visited Samuli at the hospital one more time. I think the mood was up and hopeful, he was out of all the wires, only one left was the tube between his ribs but the doctor said that they will take it out in an hour! And he was also walking and as the doctor said he needs to do something and not just lie down all the time. And surely he was trying to do everything himself :) Last time I heard he's supposed to get home on tuesday, but I think he is not able to fly because of the lungcondition.

Alena made him a nice get well card that I delivered. And Tanja has visited him and Tine was also going to, so that is really nice of them, because it's pretty god damn boring to be in hospital!

So I had prepared myself with paper map of northern Germany. And I only got lost once, actually not lost, I knew where I was and where I needed to get but couldn't find the right road. Once I got to the A1 highway it was smooth sailing all the way to Lübeck.

On the line to the ship there was like ten Finish bikers. I shared a cabin with one, 50 years old guy from Vaasa who had done eurotours every year since 1985 or something like that :D The other guy was telecommucation engineer if I remember correctly, he has been living in Belgium for last three year. So the boat trip was nice with good company, but there was no drinking and partying :( What the hell so I had no hangover today morning when I had to drive home :D

8 am I drove out of the ship and felt the weight of the world. I thought that I don't wanna go straight home so I drove around the the city and the harbour and had a nice cup of coffee at mutteri wich is a famous meeting place for bikers who drink coffee :D Today I've been mostly shattering to little peaces because I do not want to go back to work! The air hear is hot and moist, so I wonder how I can sleep, we'll see!

Here's couple of pictures because nobody wants to read my writings.

Hospital fashion 2011, stupid hospital doesn't have any loosefit clothes for the patients, so Samuli has to wear his own dirty stuff :( Although I took some clean underwear and t-shirts for him.

Total nights in hospital: still counting (not Juha)
Total nights in ship: 2 (not Samuli)
Total nights in tent: 5
Total nights on the trip: 36 (I might have counted wrong)
Total nights spend in hotels/motels:  12
So the greatest and biggest thanks I can give to all the couch hosts! Be sure to visit Finland and my and Samulis place!

Countrys visited, in order of appearance: Sweden, Denmark, Germany, Neatherlands, Belgium, France, Italy, Switzerland, Austria

Total driven kilometres were in Samulis bike but before the crash the number was over 9000.. I drove to Travemunde so I got pretty close to 10 000km.

Now to save some money for next trip! I think Samuli will write something here when he's back in Finland.

ps. there will be video update maybe tomorrow
